Al-Quds Committee Bangladesh organised a discussion on Friday, titled “International Al-Quds Day and the Martyrdom of Hazrat Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.”
On this day, justice-seeking people worldwide express solidarity with the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The participants offered prayers for the high station of Hazrat Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (RA) and reaffirmed their full support for the Palestinian struggle.
The event commenced at 3:30pm at the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Auditorium in Dhaka.
Brigadier General (Retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, former adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Iran’s Ambassador to Dhaka Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi attended the event as special guest.
The symposium was chaired by Dr Shah Kawsar Mustafa Abululayee, Chairman of the Department of Philosophy at Dhaka University and President of the Al-Quds Committee Bangladesh.
Dr Mohammad Rashed Alam Bhuiyan, associate professor in the Department of Political Science at Dhaka University, presented the keynote paper, while Advocate AKM Badruddoza of the Bangladesh Supreme Court delivered the opening remarks.
Other notable speakers included Sayyid Reza Mirmohammadi, cultural counsellor of the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka; Maulana Ruhul Amin, Khatib of Eastern Plus Jame Mosque; Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Sarkar from the Department of Persian Language and Literature at Dhaka University; and Sarwar Tushar, author and politician.
During the discussion, speakers noted that the Muslim Ummah is observing International Al-Quds Day while paying solemn tribute to the martyrdom of Hazrat Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (RA).
They highlighted that this day serves as a vital symbol of global Muslim unity, justice, and unwavering support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
Hazrat Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei was remembered as a powerful voice for Islamic values and the rights of the downtrodden, whose leadership and sacrifice continue to inspire the Ummah to stand firm against injustice and oppression.
The speakers further emphasised that International Al-Quds Day is a crucial occasion for the Muslim world to protest against occupation and demand the independence of Palestine and the protection of the dignity of Al-Quds.
A collective call was made for the unity of the Muslim Ummah to establish global peace and justice.
