Bangladesh’s historic ODI series win over Australia has brought a major reward for the national team.
Youth and Sports State Minister Aminul Haque announced a bonus of Tk 2 crore for the players after their series triumph.
Bangladesh secured the series by beating Australia in the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The victory gave the Tigers an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three match series.
The achievement marked a special moment for Bangladesh cricket. The hosts had already ended a 21 year wait for an ODI win over Australia in the first match. They then backed it up with another strong performance to seal their first ever ODI series victory against the six time world champions.
The cash reward comes in recognition of one of the finest series wins in Bangladesh’s cricket history. The Tigers now have the chance to complete a clean sweep when they meet Australia in the final ODI.
