A surge of visitors packed the Broadband Expo 2026 on its second day, with crowds peaking through the afternoon as Pahela Baishakh drew holiday footfall to the venue.
The fairgrounds at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon turned congested by evening, reflecting strong public interest in internet services and emerging technologies, organisers said.
The three-day expo, organised by the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), began on Monday and will conclude on Wednesday, with visiting hours from 10am to 6pm.
The theme of the expo is “Linking People, Linking Future,” featuring 10 pavilions, 35 mini pavilions and 20 stalls showcasing broadband services, digital solutions and connectivity innovations.
A recognition ceremony on the second day honoured 28 lifetime members of ISPAB and the previous executive committee for 2024–2025, with BTRC Commissioner Brigadier General rtd Iqbal Ahmed attending as special guest.
ISPAB President Aminul Hakim and General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan were also present along with other executive committee members.
A cultural segment followed, with band Shironamhin and other groups performing live music.
An experience zone drew students and visitors, displaying around 25 innovation projects focused on robotics and Internet of Things developed by university teams.
BRAC University Robotics Club showcased a Mars rover capable of navigating rocky terrain and collecting soil samples, along with other flagship projects including Duburi, Annesha, Nabik and Agnibir.
“A local robotic ecosystem has been initiated through these projects,” said BRAC University Robotics Club President Tasin Ahsan Hridi.
Another project, Aerolite, presented scaled aircraft replicas integrated with remote monitoring systems, enabling VR-based viewing, GPS mapping and potential agricultural applications, said project lead Md Khalid Hossain.
