The autopsy of Siam, who was killed in a bomb explosion in the capital’s Moghbazar area, has been completed, and the process of handing over the body is underway.

Officer-in-Charge of Hatirjheel Police Station Md Golam Murtaza confirmed the information on Thursday afternoon.

Police sources said the victim’s father, Ali Akbar Majumdar, has filed a case in connection with the incident, but no one has been identified or arrested so far.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when a bomb was thrown from the flyover downwards in front of the Muktijoddha Smritistambha in Moghbazar. The explosion left Siam critically injured at the spot, where he was later seen lying in a bloodied condition before dying shortly afterwards.

Police said Siam worked at Zahid Car Decoration in Moghbazar and had gone to the area to buy snacks from a shop.

Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Division Masud Alam said preliminary findings suggest the bomb was thrown from the flyover, adding that the motive behind the attack has not yet been confirmed and the incident is under investigation.
