Miscreants have attacked and vandalised the election office of Fuad, the candidate for the 11-party alliance and AB Party in the Barishal-3 constituency.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Madhbapasha area of the district.
Witnesses reported that around 20 to 25 miscreants, riding on nine motorcycles, launched an unexpected attack on the AB Party’s election office near Madhbapasha Bazar in Babuganj upazila at 11am.
They damaged office furniture and issued death threats to the staff present. Asaduzzaman Fuad confirmed that the incident was reported to the law enforcement authorities.
Further reports from witnesses suggest that the attackers are actively linked to the Madhbapasha Union BNP. Fuad stated, “A few local BNP activists carried out this attack. T
They have been threatening voters in various houses in Safipur Batamara and Nazirpur unions, warning them not to go to the voting centres.” He added that voters are now living in fear due to these threats.
