Bangladesh Army has uncovered a covert training facility operated by active insurgent group Kuki National Army (KNA), locally known as the “Bom Party,” during a month-long special operation in the remote Rang Tlang area of Ruma upazila in Bandarban hill district.
The operation, conducted from July 25 to August 26, 2025, targeted an uninhabited, border-adjacent region where army patrol teams discovered and raided the clandestine camp.
During the sweep, troops recovered wooden rifles used for combat training, components of sniper weapons, military and cartridge belts, tactical pouches, uniforms, boots, blankets, walkie-talkie chargers, solar panels, rations, and other logistical supplies.
In addition to the materials, the army took control of key tactical infrastructure, including a firing range, training ground, trenches, and various strategic installations believed to be used for paramilitary training.
Reaffirming its stance, the Bangladesh Army said it remains committed to safeguarding all communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and vowed to continue robust operations against armed groups threatening regional stability.
