Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has directed personnel to ensure the performance of their duties through citizen-friendly behaviour ahead of election.
The Army chief issued these directives during a visit to the Cox’s Bazar Area on Thursday, where he held an exchange of views meeting at the conference room of the BIAM Foundation Regional Centre.
The meeting was attended by senior military officers, representatives from various law enforcement agencies, and officials from the civil administration.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) directorate, the discussions focused extensively on inter-institutional coordination and overall security management required to conduct the upcoming national election in a peaceful, neutral, and fair manner.
During the session, General Waker-Uz-Zaman placed significant emphasis on maintaining professionalism, neutrality, discipline, patience, and citizen-friendly conduct while discharging duties.
He remarked that the successful execution of responsibilities is only achievable by earning the trust of the public.
As part of the visit, the Army chief personally observed the field activities of army personnel deployed under ‘In Aid to the Civil Power’ and provided necessary instructions.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including the general officer commanding (GOC) of the Army Training and Doctrine Command; the GOC of the 10th Infantry Division and area commander of Cox’s Bazar Area; and the air officer commanding of the Bangladesh Air Force Base Cox’s Bazar.
The Military Secretary of the Army, alongside other senior military officials from Army Headquarters and the Cox’s Bazar Area, were also present.
Additionally, the divisional commissioner of Chattogram Division, senior officials from the civil administration and law enforcement agencies, and members of the media participated in the meeting.
