Dhallywood actor Arifin Shuvoo is deeply devoted to his mother. He frequently shares emotional posts about his late mother, Khairun Nessa, on social media, reflecting on memories and the pain of losing her.

This Eid, his film Malik, directed by Saif Chandan and starring Shuvoo, was released. Yesterday, Shuvoo and co-star Bidya Sinha Mim visited a cinema for the film’s promotion. During the event, Shuvoo told journalists that he was wearing a panjabi made from his mother’s saree.

The revelation came during a promotional event for his upcoming film, Malik, directed by Saif Chandan. Shuvoo, accompanied by co-star Bidya Sinha Mim, visited a local cinema hall to engage with fans and the media.

Speaking to journalists, Shuvoo explained the personal significance of his attire. “As you may know, I am devoted to my mother. The panjabi I am wearing right now is crafted from one of her sarees,” he said. He added that he had transformed her entire collection into panjabis and wears them one by one each Eid. “I do not wear anything else for Eid now,” he noted.

Shuvoo’s devotion to his mother also influenced the making of Malik, with director Saif Chandan incorporating the actor’s real-life bond into the film’s narrative. Reflecting on the film industry, Shuvoo commented: “Cinema is inherently uncertain; one cannot predict its outcome. Some highly anticipated projects fail, while others succeed despite initial doubts. That is the beauty of film.”

Malik marks the reunion of Shuvoo and Mim, who were last seen together in Sapludu. After pursuing individual projects, the duo has returned for this action-driven film. The trailer features intense action sequences, a departure from their previous collaborations, signalling a fresh chapter for the popular pairing.
