From a quiet Rangpur boy to one of Bangladesh’s promising young musicians in recent times, Antu Dash is making waves in the country’s music scene. A fingerstyle guitarist, singer and music director, Antu has built his career through talent, relentless practice and sheer determination.
Growing up as the youngest son of photojournalist Ranjit Das, Antu was drawn to music early, spending hours listening and dreaming of melodies. His journey began in 2007, and despite doubts from those around him, he practiced tirelessly, sometimes up to 14 hours a day, driven by his passion.
Antu entered Dhaka’s professional music circuit in 2017, gradually earning recognition for his distinctive guitar tones. His work in ‘Chand Mama’ from Shakib Khan’s film Borbaad, composed by Pritom Hasan, and Webfilm Network’s Network-er Baire Bondhu brought him widespread attention. Over the years, he has contributed to hundreds of tracks, collaborating with top Bangladeshi artists.
In 2020, his folk-fusion rendition of ‘Ami Tomay Valobashi, Jogote Hoiyachi Doshi’ went viral, winning millions of fans. His original track ‘Mondo Hotona’, featured in the Chorki web film ‘Ghumpori’ (2025), further cementing his popularity.
Antu has also recorded with legends such as Runa Laila, Fahmida Nabi and West Bengal’s Nachiketa, while collaborating long-term with Joy Shahriar, Pritom Hasan, Pathik Hasan, Minar Rahman and the band Avash.
Currently, Antu shares the stage with iconic composer Habib Wahid, a milestone in his rising career. Fans are eagerly anticipating his debut solo album ‘Shunnosthan’, which promises to be another defining moment.
