Local leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement have expressed concern and condemnation over the arson attack at the graveyard reserved for freedom fighters in Rajbari.

A delegation from the organisation visited the site at Tarapur under Pangsha upazila and exchanged views with local freedom fighters on Monday afternoon. Later, they reiterated the organisation’s stance against this heinous act.

Md Rashidul Islam Rashed, member secretary of the district unit, said, “A proper investigation into the incident must be ensured, and those involved in such conspiracies must be brought under the law and given exemplary punishment so that no one dares to commit such a disgraceful act in the future.”

During the visit, joint conveners Md Rafi Hossain, Shawon Afridi, and Tushar Patwari, along with deputy spokespersons Imran Khan and Khondkar Nasim Rana, as well as other leaders, were present at the scene.
