The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) has launched a nationwide free medical campaign for its members and their families as part of its continued humanitarian and welfare activities.
Under the directives of Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, the special healthcare programme will be implemented from 27 December, 2025 to January 13, 2026, with three-day-long free medical camps held sequentially in Bogura, Jamalpur, Bhola and Lalmonirhat.
The first phase of the campaign was inaugurated on Saturday at Gabtali Government College premises in Bogura, where the programme was formally opened by Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party Bogura District Commandant Md Saddam Hossain.
Ansar–VDP headquarters sources said the force considers ensuring the health and wellbeing of its members and their families a moral and social responsibility, noting that Ansar and VDP members continue to serve the country in law enforcement and development activities with dedication, professionalism and sacrifice.
The medical camps are providing a wide range of essential healthcare services, including eye and dental care. Eye specialists are conducting comprehensive eye examinations, with arrangements for free cataract surgeries where required.
Dental specialists are offering modern dental treatment and necessary advice, while patients with common ailments are receiving health check-ups, medical consultations and essential medicines free of cost.
Members and their families who received treatment expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the services, organised under the overall guidance of the Director General.
Ansar–VDP officials said the initiative reflects the force’s humanitarian commitment, responsible leadership and social responsibility, and is expected to boost morale within the organisation while further strengthening its positive image in society.
Experienced physicians as well as Ansar–VDP officers and staff of various ranks were present at the inauguration ceremony.
