Another victim of the gas explosion in Dhaka’s Bhatara area has died, a day after her husband and niece succumbed to their injuries.
Fahima, 21, died around 9:45pm on Saturday while receiving treatment in the ICU of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Her husband Md Shaheen, 24, and their eight‑year‑old niece Hafsa had died earlier on Friday. With this, all three victims of the incident have passed away from their injuries.
Resident Surgeon Shawon Bin Rahman said the victims were admitted on July 21 after suffering burns in the explosion, which was triggered by a gas line leak at a house on 300‑Foot Road in Natun Bazar.
Fahima had sustained 45 percent burns. Hafsa died around midnight and Shaheen around 6am on Friday.
