Bangladesh batter Anamul Haque Bijoy issued a legal notice to the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Monday after being removed from the Bangladesh Premier League auction list, warning that he is prepared to take the matter to the highest level.
Bijoy, who captained Rajshahi in the previous BPL season, was not included in this year’s auction after allegations surfaced linking him to possible fixing activity. Several others, including Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Alauddin Babu and Mizanur Rahman, were also barred from entering the draft.
Speaking at the BCB offices, Bijoy said he would not accept the decision and confirmed that his lawyer will present further details on 2 December. “I have sent a legal notice to the BPL governing council president and adviser,” he said. “That is why I came to the BCB today. The BCB has received it. My lawyer’s number is there, if you have anything to ask you can ask him. I hope he will give a press briefing tomorrow. Whatever needs to be said, my lawyer will say. I will go to the highest level, Inshallah.”
The issue places the board under renewed scrutiny as it attempts to tighten its anti corruption framework, while Bijoy prepares for a legal battle over what he considers a damaging and unjust exclusion.
