Renowned Bangladeshi filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury has embarked on a new chapter in his personal life, marrying filmmaker and screenwriter Mushfika Masud in New York on the morning of November 14.
Reza shared the news himself on social media around 1:00 am Bangladesh time, posting a series of photographs from the intimate wedding ceremony.
Mushfika, who works across screenwriting, directing and post-production, holds a law degree from Liverpool John Moores University. She later trained in post-production at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema in New York and studied film production at Brooklyn College.
Sharing their wedding photos, Reza wrote: “Yes, it’s now officially confirmed. I promise to spend my life with light and darkness. Let’s begin anew, dear Mushfiqa Masud.”
Reza was previously married to actors Naureen Hasan Khan Jenny and Mim Rashid. Both marriages ended some years ago. His latest post, however, places emphasis not on the past but on a hopeful beginning, one the director appears eager to embrace with openness and grace.
