Algerian Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdelouahab Saidani paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police Md Ali Hossain Fakir at Police Headquarters on Wednesday morning, discussing issues of mutual interest including irregular migration, human trafficking, and security cooperation.
During the meeting, held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, the Algerian envoy congratulated the newly appointed IGP, according to a press release.
The ambassador exchanged views on enhancing the capacity of Bangladesh Police in various security-related fields, along with other matters of mutual interest, the release said.
The IGP welcomed Algeria’s agreement to assist in enhancing the capacity of Bangladesh Police. He emphasised strengthening mutual cooperation between police personnel of the two countries.
Senior Bangladesh Police officials were present on the occasion. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed the expectation of stronger and more fruitful cooperation in the future.
