At least 11 people were killed and 30 others injured in a blast in Dera Ismail Khan in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday, according to emergency service Rescue 1122.
The explosion took place near Aman Mela in the Darazinda area of the district, Rescue 1122 said in a statement.
Rescue teams from the Darazinda station rushed to the scene following the blast and launched relief operations, reports Reuters.
The injured were given medical assistance before being taken to hospital, the emergency service said.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
Dera Ismail Khan, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, has repeatedly experienced militant violence, with police and security forces frequently targeted.
Security incidents have continued in the district this month, including attacks involving the Pakistani Taliban.
