BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has commented that the Awami League is carrying out the lockdown using images created with artificial intelligence (AI).
He said, “There are no people in Awami League’s lockdown. They are observing the lockdown by using AI-generated images. They are secretly carrying out a flash march early morning using some intoxicated, unruly youths in exchange for money, setting buses on fire, taking pictures, and releasing them on Facebook.”
The BNP leader made the remark at a freshers’ reception programme organised at the grounds of Janata Degree College in Char Shahi Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila on Thursday afternoon.
Stating that all political parties under BNP’s leadership have united against the Awami League and Sheikh Hasina, Anee said, “Sheikh Hasina was the prime minister based on her own votes, not her own popularity. She did not practice politics, nor did she let us practice politics.”
Anee alleged that during Hasina’s tenure, BNP leaders and workers were attacked, cases were filed, and many families fell victim to enforced disappearances and killings. He stated that after independence, the Awami League has devastated the country through corruption, misrule, and criminalisation, and it was in their hands that the Mujib Bahini and the Rakkhi Bahini existed.
Special guests at the freshers’ reception programme included the college’s founding member and former chairman of the managing committee, Shibbir Mahmud, acting principal Bellal Hossain, district BNP member Anwar Hossain Bachchu, and district Chhatra Dal President Hasan Mahmud Ibrahim, among others.
