Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC signed an agreement with Bhuighar Darussunnah Islamia Kamil Madrasah in Dhaka on 6 July 2026, making it the first educational institution to join its IlmNet Education Management System (EMS), according to a press release said.
The signing ceremony was held at the bank’s Corporate Head Office in Dhaka, where Managing Director and CEO Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan and Principal Mohammad Khalid Saifullah signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
IlmNet is a Shariah-compliant digital platform designed to support academic administration, communication, fee collection and digital payment services for educational institutions. The bank said the system is intended to streamline institutional management through an integrated digital framework.
Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director and CEO Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan said Al-Arafah Islami Bank introduced IlmNet to build a technology-driven, efficient and transparent management system for educational institutions. He said the platform enables management of academic and administrative operations, student information, fee collection and digital payments through a single integrated system.
He added that IlmNet would accelerate the digital transformation of educational institutions and support the national goal of building a Smart Bangladesh and a Cashless Bangladesh, according to the statement.
Under the system, Bhuighar Darussunnah Islamia Kamil Madrasah will be able to manage student records, attendance, notices, parent communication, fee collection and other administrative activities digitally. The platform will also enable secure transactions through the bank’s Islamic Wallet and Bangla QR payment facilities.
The bank said the initiative is expected to improve operational efficiency and financial transparency in educational institutions while contributing to a wider Shariah-compliant digital education ecosystem across the country. It added that the model could expand into a broader Islamic education economy covering schools, colleges and madrasahs.
Senior officials present at the ceremony included Deputy Managing Directors Mohammad Hossain, Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan and Syed Abul Hashem, FCA, FCMA, along with other executives of Al-Arafah Islami Bank and representatives of the madrasah.
