Renowned musician Akhi Alamgir is celebrating Valentine’s Day with the release of a heartfelt new track on Bangladesh Television. The song, penned by lyricist Adhora Jahan and composed by Alam Ara Minu, will be featured in BTV’s special musical programme ‘Bhalobaasi Tai Bhalobese Jai’, airing tonight at 10:00 pm.
Speaking about the release, Akhi Alamgir said, “This is exactly the kind of song listeners want to hear on Valentine’s Day. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
The artist has also returned to collaborate with legendary lyricist and composer Milton Khandaker after 27 years. For BTV’s popular magazine show ‘Boithok Khana’, she performed ‘Jora Shalik’, a fresh composition that revisits their earlier partnership.
Akhi had previously lent her voice to Milton Khandaker’s song ‘Eto Choto Jonmo Niya Jogote Ashia’ for the 1990s film ‘Asami Bodhu’, composed by the late Alam Khan, which gained widespread popularity at the time.
Reflecting on the reunion, Akhi Alamgir expressed her excitement, saying, “Singing a new song by Milton Khandaker on BTV feels wonderful. This is not a revival of an old song but a fresh creation. I am thrilled to be part of it.”
