Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan unveiled the commemorative plaque of the Bangladesh Centre for Air and Space Power Studies (BCASPS) building at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday, marking the opening of a new facility for the centre’s research and policy support activities.
The Chief of Air Staff planted a tree at the premises of the newly inaugurated building and joined a special prayer and munajat, before inspecting different sections of its official and operational activities, the Bangladesh Air Force said in a press release.
BCASPS began its formal operations on 18 January 2026 through the inauguration of its activities and website. Since its establishment, the centre has contributed to research and knowledge development on air and space power, national security, strategic environment and defence policies under the guidance of the Chief of Air Staff.
Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan said the inauguration of the BCASPS building would further accelerate the organisation’s research, education and policy support activities.
Recently, BCASPS was registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) under the Societies Registration Act 1860.
Principal staff officers of Air Headquarters, Air Officer Commanding of the Air Defence Operation Centre, Air Officer Commanders of Bangladesh Air Force Bases Bir Uttam A K Khandker and Bashar, Commandant of the Bangladesh Air Force Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), members of the BCASPS governing body and senior Bangladesh Air Force officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
