Agriculture Secretary Rafiqul I Mohamed visited Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) in Gazipur on Saturday, where he held discussions with scientists on the institute’s research activities and future cooperation.
The secretary was received in front of the institute’s headquarters by BARI Director General Muhammad Ataur Rahman and other directors upon arrival, according to a statement issued by the institute.
An exchange meeting was later held at the Director General’s meeting room.
At the beginning of the programme, BARI Director General Muhammad Ataur Rahman delivered a welcome address highlighting the institute’s activities and achievements.
During the discussion with BARI scientists, Agriculture Secretary Rafiqul I Mohamed acknowledged the contribution of researchers to the country’s agricultural development and assured further possible cooperation in the future.
Chief Scientific Officers, department heads and officials from different divisions, centres and sections of the institute were present at the meeting.
