The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Project for Utilisation of Hady and Adahi (‘Adahi’) has been inaugurated on Wednesday by Dr Abdullah Zafer H bin Abiyah, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh.
Supervised by the Udhiya Project, under the supervision of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, the programme ‘Adahi’ aims to distribute sacrificial meat to the needy people in Bangladesh as a charity from the Hajj and Eid Ul Adha.
Md Abdur Rashid, the Director (Admin) of the Department of Disaster Management and Relief along with Jahangir, the Deputy Director of the Department of Disaster Management and Relief, Mostofa Jamil Khan, Director of West Asia Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affair and Ahmed Al Zahrani, representative of the Udhiyah Project, were present at the press conference in the Saudi Embassy.
Dr Abdullah bin Zafer bin Abiya delivered his kind words showcasing the future of how the Kingdom can aid with donating towards the needy Muslims around the world and especially for Bangladesh.
Ahmed Al Zahrani (representative of the Udhiyah Project) sent his heartfelt message towards the inauguration of the project saying that the project aims to share the benefits and joys of Eid Ul Adha among Muslims.
Mostofa Jamil Khan, the Director of West Asia Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared his joy upon the acheivement of Bangladesh being the 4th country with the highest number of Hajj pilgrims and for this we have received an equivalent of 372 tonnes of sacrificial meat which are to be distributed to 64 upazilas.
As a part of their initiative, the ‘Adahi’ programme is now benefitting Muslims in more than 25 countries around the world.
