Ruari Cannon, who has waived his right to anonymity, has reached an out-of-court settlement with the Old Vic theatre over allegations that Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted him.
Cannon, a former actor at the London venue while Spacey served as artistic director, claimed the incidents took place at a theatre after-party at the Savoy Hotel and at the Old Vic’s theatre bar.
In a statement, the Old Vic said the settlement was “mutually agreed” and “without any admission of liability,” adding that the terms are confidential and no further comment will be made.
Cannon continues to pursue legal action against Spacey at the High Court, alongside two other men whose criminal trials last year cleared Spacey of similar allegations. Lawyers for the claimants have requested that evidence from seven other witnesses, describing similar behaviour, be considered and that all three cases be heard together.
Spacey denies all non-consensual contact. A High Court judge, Mrs Justice Lambert, has yet to rule on whether the additional witness evidence will be admitted.
The trial is scheduled to begin on November 9.
