BNP Chairperson’s adviser Abdus Salam has stated that plotting conspiracies serves no purpose, and those advocating for a referendum should be investigated to determine whether they have any connection with Sheikh Hasina.
He said, “If Sheikh Hasina, while sitting in India, instructs her leaders and activists not to vote, then what will be the state of the country?”
He further remarked, “True democracy has not yet been achieved in the country…. We do not know whom the people will vote for—BNP or someone else. However, we believe the people will deliver their verdict in favour of BNP.”
He made these comments on Monday afternoon at an event held in Nijkalikapur village of Mirzanagar union under Parshuram Upazila in Feni.
The programme was presided over by Rafiqul Alam Majnu, convener of Dhaka South BNP and organisational coordinator for the Feni-1 constituency.
BNP leader Abu Taleb, Parshuram Upazila BNP Member Secretary Ibrahim Khalil Moni, Parshuram Municipal BNP Convener Kazi Yusuf Mahfuz, and Member Secretary Mahbubul Haque Mazumdar were present.
Following the meeting, a torch procession was held demanding the construction of a sustainable embankment, which marched through various roads in Nijkalikapur.
