Renowned publishing house Oitijjhya is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a 19-day literary festival, the ‘Oitijjhya Book Carnival 2025’, taking place from November 12 to 30 at the Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka.
Founded in 2000, Oitijjhya has become one of Bangladesh’s leading literary publishers, producing nearly 2,500 titles and earning recognition as the largest publisher of collected works (Rachanabali) across both Bengals.
The carnival will be inaugurated on November 12, at 4:00 pm by eminent writer Hasnat Abdul Hye. Distinguished guests include Farida Hossain, Anwar Hossain Manju, and Mohit Ul Alam.
During the event, readers will find over 2,500 publications, including 25 new titles and 25 collected works, with discounts of up to 71percent and exclusive offers. Individual volumes from Oitijjhya’s collected works series will be available within Tk 50 to Tk 300.
Sister imprints Ilham, Kakatuya, Grippermark and Nu Books will also join the fair, offering special deals on books, notebooks and stationery.
Meanwhile, the online platform Nirbachito will extend up to 30 percent discounts on local titles and up to 15 percent off on select foreign books.
Beyond the book sales, the carnival promises a festive atmosphere with events such as a Children’s Art Competition, Writers’ Day, Folk Mehfil and Readers’ Club Day, celebrating creativity, literature and the enduring love of reading.
