BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has said that a certain party is doing politics in the name of religion.

He also sought votes for the “sheaf of paddy” symbol for the sake of the country’s development and stability.

He made the remark at an election rally in Bomubilchhari Union of Chakaria Upazila on Monday.

Salahuddin Ahmed, BNP candidate for Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua) constituency, said the upcoming election will be one that changes people’s fate. “There is a party that has no plan for the country. They are doing politics in the name of religion,” he said.

Salahuddin further said that in the future, the people will regain ownership of the country, and a constitution will be enacted to ensure that fascism never returns to the nation.

He also pledged that if the BNP comes to power, poor families will be given family cards, health cards will be introduced to ensure medical services, and farmers will be provided with agriculture cards.

Bomubilchhari Union BNP convener Gias Uddin, Chakaria Upazila BNP president Enamul Haque, general secretary M. Mobarak Ali, and former Bomubilchhari Union chairman Abdul Matlub also spoke at the rally.
