Gas supply will remain suspended for 24 hours from Friday morning across Savar, Ashulia, Manikganj, and parts of Gazipur due to gas pipeline relocation work under Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway project.
According to a press notice issued by Titas Gas authority on Thursday, gas supply will be shut off from 8am on Friday until 8am on Saturday to perform tie-in work for shifting existing pipelines along Ashulia Road.
Surrounding areas may experience low gas pressure during this period.
The temporary supply disruption will affect all categories of customers on both sides of the road from Ashulia Bazar to Baipail, as well as Dhaka EPZ, Malancha Power Plant, Beximco DRS, Kashimpur Police Station area, Saradaganj, Haji Market, Sreepur, Chandra and Chandra Intersection.
Other affected areas are Nabinagar, Savar Town, Savar Cantonment, Ulail, Bank Town, Savar Radio Colony, Kolma, Dosaid, Kumkumari, Akran, Charabag, Bara Ashulia, Tongabari, Kathgara, Jirabo, Gazirchat, Nayapara, and both sides of Dewan Idris Road.
In addition, gas supply will be completely suspended for all consumer categories in Nayarhat, Bolibhadrapur, Palli Bidyut, Dendarbor, Bhadail, Latifpur, Manikganj, and adjacent areas. Nearly one crore residents live in these affected locations.
Titas Gas authority has expressed its sincere regret to customers for the temporary inconvenience caused by the relocation work.
