65 new dengue cases reported in 24 hours

Bangladesh recorded 65 new dengue hospitalisations but no fatalities during the 24-hour period from Wednesday morning to Thursday, according to a bulletin issued by the Health Directorate’s Health and Emergency Operations Center and Control Room.

The official notification revealed that among the newly infected patients, 24 were admitted to various hospitals in Dhaka while 41 cases were reported from healthcare facilities outside the capital.

Cumulative data from January 1 to May 15 show 3,264 total dengue cases nationwide, with a 60% male and 40% female infection rate. The current year’s death toll stands at 21, comprising 61.9% male and 38.1% female victims.

The Health Directorate continues to monitor the situation through reports from both government and private healthcare institutions across the country.
