2 killed in Natore road accident

Two individuals lost their lives, and another was injured in separate road accidents in Lalpur upazila of Natore on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old van driver Ershad Ali from Maheshpur village and 60-year-old pedestrian Bablu from Mohorkoya village in the upazila, reports UNB.

The injured motorcyclist, 22-year-old Nur Alam, sustained injuries in one of the accidents.

According to Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam of Lalpur Police Station, a microbus traveling from Ishwardi to Rajshahi collided with a rickshaw-van at Chinir Bottola area around 12:30am. The collision caused Ershad to fall under the vehicle’s wheels, resulting in his death at the scene.

Earlier, in the Koilardahar area, pedestrian Bablu was struck by a motorcycle on the local Bilmaria road. Despite being rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Bablu died from his injuries en route.

The microbus driver has been detained, and legal actions will follow, confirmed the OC.
