Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Director Md Shakil Rizvi emphasised that compliance is not merely a legal obligation but an essential condition for maintaining the stability, transparency, and credibility of the capital market.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of a four-day training workshop on 18 September titled “Compliance and Interactive Issues for the Stakeholders” organised by the DSE Training Academy, Rizvi said, “Compliance or adhering to rules is not just an obligation, it is one of the fundamental requirements to maintain the stability, transparency, and credibility of our capital market.”
Rizvi outlined two key areas that authorized representatives of the brokerage firms must focus on—knowledge of the law and maintaining strong relationships with investors.
“Within the framework of the law, we must provide the best service to investors,” advised the veteran stockbroker and value investor.
He also noted the significant experience many stakeholders bring to the table, saying, “Many of you have been involved with the capital market for a long time and have diverse experiences. It is your responsibility to leverage this experience to improve your workplace in the capital market.”
Rizvi expressed his hope that the knowledge and skills gained from the training would help participants simplify their practical work and play an effective role in safeguarding investors’ interests.
The closing ceremony, held at DSE, was attended by BSEC Director Md Abul Kalam and DSE Deputy General Manager and Training Academy Head Syed Al Amin Rahman.
