The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a fresh ban on all forms of public gatherings and demonstrations near the Chief Adviser’s official residence, State Guest House Jamuna, the Secretariat, and surrounding areas.
The restriction, announced in a public notice issued on Thursday, will take effect from September 7 and remain in place until further notice.
Signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali, the notice states that the restricted zone includes key locations such as the intersections near InterContinental Dhaka, Kakrail Mosque, Officers’ Club, and Minto Road.
“In the interest of maintaining law and order and ensuring the security of the Chief Adviser, all forms of rallies, public gatherings, demonstrations, and processions are prohibited in and around the Secretariat and State Guest House Jamuna under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance,” the notice read
