The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled Uday Kusum Barua, a member of the party’s National Executive Committee, from all party positions for breaching party discipline.
The decision was confirmed by party’s press statement, signed by Ruhul Karib Rizvi, BNP Joint Secretary General, on Sunday.
Party sources said that Uday Kusum has been expelled for allegedly inciting a recent attack on students of Chittagong University (CU) by local residents.

His expulsion comes following growing criticism over the incident and his alleged role in escalating tensions.
