The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has served notices to Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Gazi Md Mozammel Haque and his wife, Farzana Mozammel, over the alleged accumulation of Tk14.54 crore in undisclosed wealth.

ACC Public Relations Officer Akhtar Hossain confirmed the development on Sunday, stating that the couple has been asked to submit detailed statements of their assets.

According to the ACC’s preliminary investigation, Mozammel Haque possesses Tk11.68 crore in wealth that appears to be disproportionate to his known sources of income. His wife, Farzana Mozammel, has reportedly been found to hold Tk2.85 crore in similarly unexplained assets.

Mozammel Haque joined the police force in 1998 as an assistant superintendent of police after passing the 17th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam. He is currently posted as an additional DIG at the Anti-Terrorism Unit. Further investigation is underway, the ACC said.
