The government has achieved a record-breaking success in food gain collection, surpassing its targets in the domestic Boro procurement.
The Boro procurement for 2025, which concluded on August 15, had set targets of 3.50 lakh tonnes of paddy, 14 lakh tonnes of parboiled rice, and 50,000 tonnes of atap rice, according to a press release issued on Monday.
However, the actual collection exceeded projections, with 3.76 lakh 942 tonnes of paddy procured, 107.69 per cent of the target. Similarly, government collected 14.06 lakh 533 tonnes of parboiled rice (100.46 per cent), and 51,307 tonnes of Atap rice (102.21 per cent).
