The Election Commission will announce the schedule for the 13th National Parliamentary Election in early December.
Election Commissioner Brig Gen (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah disclosed the information during a press briefing held at the EC’s office in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Thursday.
He further stated that preparations have begun with the aim of holding the elections in February.
Earlier in the day, the ninth commission meeting of the Election Commission took place in its conference room.
After the meeting, the Sanaullah told reporters, “We are preparing to complete the election process before Ramadan.”
The briefing was also attended by Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed and Additional Secretary Ali Newaz, among others.
Prior to this, an all-day meeting was held in the Election Commission’s conference room.
Present at the meeting were Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin and Election Commissioners Md Abdul Rahim, Begum Tasmida Ahmed, Md Anwarul Islam Sarkar, and Brig Gen (Retd) Abul Fazol Mohammad Sanaullah.
