Two music superstars, two high-profile divorces and whispers of secret meetings. Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban are at the centre of fresh romance rumours, but is there more to their renewed connection than friendship?
A report published by RadarOnline on 7 October claims the former American Idol co-stars have stayed in frequent contact since their respective marriages ended.
Citing an unnamed source, the outlet reported that the pair have confided in each other about their private lives and insecurities, with speculation that they may have met privately. Neither singer has publicly confirmed a romance.
The rumour has gained traction partly because Lopez and Urban are hardly strangers. They served as judges on American Idol in 2014, alongside Harry Connick Jr. According to RadarOnline’s source, their chemistry was noticeable even then, with colleagues reportedly seeing them as particularly in sync.
The source also claimed they never acted on any alleged attraction because both were in committed relationships. These claims, however, remain unverified.
Lopez’s marriage to actor Ben Affleck ended after the couple rekindled their early-2000s romance and married in July 2022.
She filed for divorce in August 2024, listing 26 April 2024 as their separation date. Their divorce was finalised in February 2025.
Urban’s 19-year marriage to actor Nicole Kidman also came to an end. Kidman filed for divorce in September 2025, and a court finalised the separation in January 2026. The former couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
With both divorces finalised, the timing has fuelled speculation. But the reported contact and alleged private meetings are based on anonymous-source claims, not publicly documented evidence of a romantic relationship.
No confirmed joint appearance, public declaration or independently verified meeting has established that the two are dating.
