Female students have once again outperformed their male counterparts in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, marking the 10th consecutive year of academic dominance.

According to the results published at 2pm on Thursday, the overall pass rate stood at 68.45 per cent. A total of 19,04,086 students sat for the exams this year, including 9,52,389 female students and 9,51,697 male students.

Among the 13,03,426 students who passed, 6,76,445 were female and 6,26,981 were male. The pass rate for female students reached 71.03 per cent, while that for male students was 65.88 per cent—further widening the gender performance gap.

This trend has remained uninterrupted for the past decade. The last time male students led in pass rates was in 2015, when boys achieved an 87.41 per cent pass rate, slightly ahead of girls at 86.64 per cent.

Since then, girls have consistently led in both pass rates and GPA-5 achievements, indicating sustained improvement in female academic performance across the country’s 11 education boards.
