Tom Holland has overtaken Zoe Saldaña to become the world’s highest-grossing actor, with his films now generating around $15.5 billion at the global box office.
According to Variety, Saldaña had briefly taken the top spot from Scarlett Johansson earlier this year, with a cumulative $15.46 billion.
Holland has now moved ahead, helped by Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. The latter has earned $1.684 billion worldwide, making it Universal Pictures’ highest-grossing film.
At 30, Holland is the youngest actor to top the list. He reportedly earned $20 million upfront for Brand New Day, with bonuses potentially taking his total above $100 million.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Brand New Day also stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.
