NRB Bank PLC can now facilitate financing for export-oriented industries, green factory buildings and green industries, and ICT-sector initiatives after signing three participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank’s (BB) Sustainable Finance Department.
The agreements cover the Tk3,000 crore Refinance Scheme for Export Diversification, the Tk1,000 crore Refinance Scheme for Green Factory Building and Green Industry, and the Tk1,000 crore Refinance Scheme for the Development of ICT Sector, said a press release on Tuesday.
The export financing will support industries under Export Policy 2024-2027, specifically Highest Priority Sectors and Special Development Sectors. The green financing will cover eligible green factory buildings and green industries. The ICT financing will support ICT-sector initiatives in accordance with the respective BB refinance schemes.
BB Sustainable Finance Department Director A K M Nurunnabi and NRB Bank PLC Managing Director and CEO Tarek Reaz Khan have recently signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organisations. NRB Bank PLC Deputy Managing Director M Rashidul Huda and other senior officials of both organisations were present at the signing ceremony.
