Bangladesh have announced a 15-member squad for their one-off Test against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates, with Najmul Hossain Shanto set to lead the side. Taskin Ahmed along with Amite Hasan, has been left out of the squad. Jaker Ali Anik and Towhid Hridoy have been included in the squad.
The Test will begin on October 9, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirming the squad on Saturday.
Tanzid Hasan, Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar are the other specialist top-order options, while Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Kumer Das bring considerable Test experience to the batting line-up.
Tawhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali Anik have also been included, alongside all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
The bowling attack features left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, as well as Hasan Mahmud, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury and Shoriful Islam.
Off-spinner Nayeem Hasan will travel with the squad as a reserve, along with pacers Musfik Hasan and Iqbal Hossain Emon.
The Afghanistan Test is part of Bangladesh’s ongoing international schedule, with the UAE set to host the one-off contest.
