A three-member teaching delegation from China’s Yunnan Minzu University arrived at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) on Monday for a one-year assignment to further enrich and institutionalise Chinese language education at the institution.
BKSP Director General Brigadier General Mohammad Saif Ullah welcomed the delegation, reads a press release.
A discussion meeting was held at BKSP on the occasion, where Saif and members of the Yunnan Minzu University delegation exchanged views on mutual cooperation, Chinese language education and expanding higher education opportunities, among other issues.
BKSP signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Yunnan Minzu University in 2023. Under the agreement, opportunities have been created for BKSP trainees to receive scholarships for higher education.
As part of the initiative, 10 BKSP trainees are currently pursuing higher education at Yunnan Minzu University.
To make the Chinese language education programme more effective and up to date, a classroom at BKSP’s college branch has already been equipped as a modern language lab.
The facility will enable BKSP trainees to learn Chinese and improve their communication skills for pursuing higher education and training in China in the future.
The authorities expressed hope that the cooperation between BKSP and Yunnan Minzu University would further strengthen educational, sports and cultural exchanges between the two institutions, while also deepening the friendly relations between Bangladesh and China.
