Strategic cooperation and professional skills development agreements were signed among the Institute of Professional Development (IPD), Triple A Finance and Investment Limited, Edu Pro and EDXGIM at the ‘AI, Skills and Global Business Conclave 2026’ recently held in Dhaka.
The conclave was organised by IPD at The Westin Dhaka, bringing together local and international experts to discuss AI and automation, workplace transformation, skills development, leadership and investment in human resources, said a press release on Monday.
It aimed to prepare skilled human resources and make businesses more competitive amid rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.
The first executive panel discussion featured United Nations DRR Fellow and media personality Md Mansurul Haque; IBM-certified Quantum Computing Developer Mujtaba Sattar (Ananta); University of Dhaka Department of Finance Professor and Chairman HM Mosharaf Hossain; and economist and former ICAB president Jamal Uddin Ahmed.
International speakers included AIA Chief Executive Philip Turnbull and University of Leeds International Business Department Professor and Head Prof Mohammad Faisal Ahmad.
The discussions focused on how AI and automation are reshaping workplaces, the changing demand for future skills, and ways to prepare Bangladesh’s workforce for the global job market and increasingly competitive business environment. Speakers highlighted the need for continuous upskilling and reskilling as technological advances transform traditional job roles while creating new employment opportunities. They also stressed greater investment in technology-oriented training, leadership development and human capital.
IPD Founder and Chief Executive Mohammad Ferdous Majid said businesses have no alternative but to modernise their operations while equipping human resources with new skills to remain competitive in the era of AI and automation.
The organisers said the initiative would contribute to developing the skills of professionals and young people while helping Bangladesh build a workforce better prepared for the technology-driven global economy.
