Four electrocuted in separate incidents in Chuadanga

Four people, including a couple, died after being electrocuted in three separate incidents in Chuadanga on Tuesday.

The accidents occurred in villages under Sadar and Damurhuda upazilas from early morning to noon.

In the first incident, farmer Liton Ali was electrocuted around noon while cutting grass for cattle with an electric machine in Kaliabkari village of Damurhuda.

His wife was also electrocuted when she tried to rescue him.

Locals took the critically injured couple to Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex, where doctors at the emergency department declared them dead.

Earlier, Nasir Uddin was electrocuted while charging his battery-run easy bike at his home in Alukdia village of Chuadanga Sadar.

His family members rushed him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, but the emergency department doctor declared him dead.

Nasir was the son of Gias Uddin of Alukdia village.

In another incident, Shafiqul Islam, 45, died of electrocution at Loknathpur village in Damurhuda early Tuesday while allegedly attempting to steal a tube-well’s electric motor.

Shafiqul was the son of the late Sirajul Islam of Shantipara in Darshana municipality.

The officers-in-charge of Chuadanga Sadar and Damurhuda Model police stations said legal procedures in connection with the incidents were underway.
