Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel has opened up about her decision to remain single at 51, saying she is “superrr happy” with her life and does not see marriage as necessary.

In an AMA session on X, as reported by Hindustan Times, a fan asked Patel when she planned to marry. She replied, “Never, superrr happy being single. I have 100 close family and friends who love me. Can’t afford one man to come and change all that.”

Several fans supported her view, with some describing single life as more fulfilling and marriage as a compromise that can limit personal growth.

Last year, Patel told Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast that she had been in a serious relationship, but her partner did not support her decision to enter films. She said she had not completely ruled out marriage but wanted a partner who would support her career.

“I am all up for marriage, as long as I find someone worthy,” she said, adding that she still receives proposals from well-to-do families and that even younger men ask her out. She said mental maturity mattered more than age, adding that some older people she had met had “the IQ of a fly”.

Patel was last seen in the 2024 romantic comedy ‘Tauba Tera Jalwa’, directed by Akashaditya Lama and also starring Jatin Khurana and Angela Krislinzki. Her last successful film was ‘Gadar 2’, in which she reprised her role as Sakina opposite Sunny Deol. The film earned ₹686 crore worldwide.

She is yet to announce her next project.
