Actor Abhay Verma has said he remains thankful for the opportunities he received, despite eight of his films reportedly being shelved before his breakthrough with “Munjya”, writes NDTV.
The 2024 horror comedy became a major turning point in Verma’s career.
The film earned a positive response from audiences, while his performance brought him wider recognition and opened the door to more projects in Bollywood.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Verma said he had never viewed the setbacks with bitterness and instead believed they were part of a larger plan.
“I’ve always believed in God’s plan. God has really been helpful and kind to me during all the things that didn’t happen,” he said.
“There were like eight films that didn’t happen before ‘Munjya’ (2024). So I’m just grateful and I believe that God is with me and everything will come at the right time.”
The actor added that he prefers to focus on his work rather than dwell on missed opportunities.
“I am just counting my blessings and taking it all in. I feel everything comes and goes at the right time, and it all happens for a reason,” he said.
“I go by that, keep my head down and work the best I can every day.”
Verma also expressed hope that his journey would inspire others who dream of entering the film industry.
“I just hope that someone will get impacted or inspired to see dreams like I did, and still do, and maybe come to this city and choose this profession for themselves,” he said.
His next release, “Laikey Laikaa”, has reportedly been postponed to February 2027.
The makers are said to be planning a special song featuring Rasha Thadani, whose track “Uyi Amma” from her debut film “Azaad” received a strong response.
As Thadani’s character in “Laikey Laikaa” is a dancer, the team reportedly wants to use her dancing skills in the new song.
The makers also believe the track will complement the film’s romantic theme and its planned release around Valentine’s Day.
Besides “Laikey Laikaa”, Verma is set to appear in “King” alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Lijo Jose Pellissery’s “Dilkashi” and an untitled project directed by Shujaat Saudagar, in which he will share the screen with Shanaya Kapoor.
