Popular Bangladeshi actress Saberi Alam is receiving praise for playing the mother of actor AB Rokon for the first time.
The two are appearing as mother and son in Mohin Khan’s serial drama Paribarik Nirbachon, which is being released on the Cinemawala YouTube channel.
Speaking about working with Rokon, Saberi said they had known each other for years.
She had previously seen him working as an assistant to director Mohammad Mostofa Kamal Raj in several dramas.
“As we already knew each other, I felt comfortable working with him. Rokon acted with great sincerity in the role of my son,” she said.
Praising director Mohin Khan, Saberi described him as a talented member of the new generation who continues to produce dramas with meaningful social messages.
Rokon said he was inspired to enter acting after watching the natural performances of his mentor, Mohammad Mostofa Kamal Raj.
He initially worked as an assistant director before gradually moving into acting.
“It was a wonderful experience playing Saberi Apa’s son. She is a talented artist, very positive-minded and cooperative. I am receiving a great response for working with her in Paribarik Nirbachon,” he said.
Rokon began his acting career in Arif A Ahnab’s drama Artist. He later appeared in Raj’s Off Screen, Family Crisis and Hit, among others.
He has also directed dramas including Appointment Letter, Brother and Sister, Prem Obujh, Biyer Banijya and Crazy Lover.
He made his film debut with Ochena Hridoy and later acted in Tarkanta, Jodi Ekdin and Samrat.
Meanwhile, Saberi Alam is scheduled to act in a drama directed by Zakaria Shoukhin next week.
