Director Adnan Al Rajeev is set to make his feature film debut after establishing himself in television dramas and commercials, with actor Siam Ahmed expected to play the lead role.
Rajeev recently announced his first film, describing it as a romantic story.
However, he did not reveal the title or cast at the time.
A source close to the production said Rajeev and Siam signed the agreement several days ago.
The film is now in the pre-production stage.
Neither the director nor Siam has officially confirmed the development. Both have declined to comment on the project.
While Siam is expected to headline the film, the makers have yet to announce the female lead.
Attempts to contact Rajeev for comment were unsuccessful.
Siam was last seen in the action film Rakshas, released during Eid.
The upcoming project is expected to mark his return to a romantic role on the big screen after a long gap.
Rajeev previously directed popular television dramas, including Kachhe Asar Golpo, Bikel Belar Pakhi and Middle Class Sentiment.
The upcoming romance will be his first full-length feature film.
