Salman Khan has sent fans into a frenzy after unveiling a striking new look from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, with the image quickly going viral across social media.
The Bollywood superstar shared a new photograph on Instagram on Monday, revealing a rugged appearance and noticeably lean physique while posing amid lush greenery. Keeping the post brief, Salman captioned it simply: “MAATRUBHUMI.”
The new look immediately caught the attention of fans, who flooded the comments section with praise and excitement. The post also marks one of the latest updates from the much-anticipated film, which has remained in the spotlight since its announcement, reports Mint.
Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has undergone several changes in recent months. The project was initially announced as Battle of Galwan with a scheduled release on 17 April 2026. However, production delays led to an extended shooting schedule, including additional filming and reshoots. During that period, the makers also renamed the film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace.
Amid speculation over the film’s certification, Salman Khan Films recently issued an official clarification, dismissing reports that the project had encountered problems with the certification process.
The production house stated that the film has not yet been submitted to the certification board and described claims of certification delays or objections as entirely false. It also urged media outlets and individuals not to circulate unverified reports, adding that all official updates would be shared only through Salman Khan Films’ authorised channels.
Although industry speculation has linked the film to an August release, the makers have yet to announce a new theatrical release date.
