BGIC approves 11% cash dividend at 41st AGM

Bangladesh General Insurance Company PLC (BGIC) has approved an 11 per cent cash dividend on its enhanced paid-up capital of Tk54.03 crore for the year 2025 at its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 18 June 2026.

The meeting was held virtually from the company’s head office and was presided over by Chairman Towhid Samad, with shareholders participating alongside Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury.

At the beginning of the meeting, a special prayer was offered for the eternal peace of BGIC founder MA Samad and other deceased shareholders and members associated with the company.

BGIC, the first non-life insurance company in the private sector in Bangladesh, said the dividend decision reflects its strong financial performance for the year.

The meeting was also attended by Vice Chairman Salim Bhuiyan, Public Director Md Shakil Rizvi, Nominated Directors Mohammad Manjur Mahmud and AKM Mazharul Islam, Independent Directors Nasir Uddin Chowdhury and Priti Chakraborty, along with senior officials of the company.

Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary Saifuddin Ahmed conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
