Family members of victims of enforced disappearance and killings, represented by the rights group ‘Maayer Daak’, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Parliament on Sunday.

The meeting took place outside the Parliament chamber after the day’s budget session, according to Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.

A total of 26 representatives of families affected by enforced disappearances and killings observed the parliamentary proceedings from the Bir Sreshtha Lance Naik Munshi Abdur Rouf Gallery of the National Parliament at the invitation of the Prime Minister.

Later, the prime minister exchanged greetings with them outside the chamber.

Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Whip Rakibul Islam, State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad, MPs Fazlul Haque Milon and Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, as well as ‘Maayer Daak’ coordinator and MP Sanjida Islam Tulee, were present, among others.

The session was presided over by Deputy Speaker Kayser Kamal, while Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was present in Parliament during the proceedings.
